The Story of Ya Yah Design
Hi my name is Helen and I live and work on the shaky Porthills of Christchurch NZ with my Very Supportive Partner, Beautiful Teenage Daughter, Cheeky Preschooler and a Mad Little dog called Zoe.
I Started making my Ya Yah Giraffes to sell about 2 and a Half Years ago
and in the Last Six Months started Making my Re-useable Sandwich and Snack Bags mostly
because Preschool Banned Gladwrap and I just Couldn't Fit All the
Little Plastic Boxes in my Daughters Lunch Box.
I Decided there had to be a Better Way and started Experimenting with different types of Bags.
Most I tried She was Unable to Open on her Own or too Complicated to Redo if putting Stuff back in.
So I made a Reusable Version of what We had Growing Up - the Plastic Sandwich Envelope.
It Worked Well at Our Place so I made Some for Friends and Tested them out.
Made a Few Small Changes Along the Way and Now Have a Great Range of Designs to Choose From.
My Newest Project has been Some Funky Soft Chunky Washcloths for Sticky Little Hands and Faces
that will make Clean Up more Enjoyable for All. Kids don't like the Traditional Scratchy Toweling
Facecloths and I must admit I'm not a fan either. So I found some Super Soft and Absorbent
Cotton Chenille to use combined with Soft Colourful Cotton Flannel.
We have a Stack in the Kitchen to Use All the Time.
